Inntopia + Vertical Insure®
Vertical Insure provides various types of insurance for a wide range of needs by allowing embedded insurance to be offered in every Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm transaction.
Vertical sends Inntopia insurance quotes in real time and Inntopia sends reservations to Vertical Insure when those quotes are accepted by customers.
The integration currently offers three types of insurance:
- Trip Insurance – Offers up to three levels of protection.
- Basic – Offers up to 100% coverage of travel and lodging costs
- Plus – Offers up to 100% coverage of travel and lodging costs, as well as trip delay, luggage and belongings, emergency medical, and evacuation costs.
- Plus with Cancel for Any Reason – Offers up to 100% coverage of everything in Plus, as well as the option to be refunded if the trip is cancelled for any reason.
- Refund Insurance – Covers lift tickets, season passes, rentals, activities, and lodging.
- Accident/Injury Insurance – Reimburses up to $5,000 of out-of-pocket medical costs resulting from an accident or an injury that occurs during a covered activity.

- Vertical Insure is supported in both Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm.
- Vertical Insure is offered on a per sales-channel-basis with options for Trip, Refund, and Injury available.
- When activated, Vertical Insure quotes are offered as part of the checkout experience.
- Vertical Insure offers customized insurance quotes from a variety of carriers in real time based on guest and itinerary details.
- Guest (name, phone, email, birth date) and participant data gathered through customer requirements are shared with Vertical.
- Post-reservation, Vertical Insure contacts guests with additional details/confirmation email.
- Vertical Insure cancellation policies are configured in Inntopia.
- Payment for accepted Vertical Insure quotes is collected through Inntopia.
- Customer support is covered by Vertical Insure.
- Coverage can be added up to 24 hours prior to the start date of a reservation.
- Vertical Insure provides insurance based on customer's country of residence.
- Integration Flow –
- Guest or agent builds itinerary in Inntopia.
- Agent requests insurance quote. (CRS only)
- Guest or agent fills out customer requirements.
- Based on guest and itinerary information, Vertical Insure provides a customized quote in real time to Inntopia.
- Guest reviews insurance quote.
- Guest accepts (or declines) coverage and completes checkout.
- Inntopia collects payment and sends reservation to Vertical Insure.

- Availability of Vertical insurance products is dependent on the guest’s primary location; therefore, some products may not be available in some locations.
- In Inntopia CRS, if no Vertical Insure product offers are available, a message stating such will be shown to the agent.
- In Inntopia eComm, if no insurance product offers are available, the insurance widget will not appear on the Review page of the checkout path.
- By default, several product categories are not eligible for Vertical Insure protections, such as Travel Insurance, Gift Cards, or Dining and Nightlife. For a complete list, contact Inntopia Partner Services.
- Cancellations can only be made in CRS within ten days of reserving insurance protections. Cancellations attempted through the integration beyond ten days are not supported.
- For cancellations outside the ten-day period, the customer must directly contact the insurance provider listed in their confirmation email.
- When modifying an existing reservation, any associated Vertical insurance product(s) affected by the modification must be cancelled and then re-added to itinerary to generate a new, up-to-date quote from Vertical Insure.
- Customer Requirements must be configured on covered products to collect Name and DOB.
Note: Some activities (such as Mountain Biking, Running, and Skiing) will work with unknown ages.

- Partner: Contacts Inntopia to initiate integration implementation and provides the following information:
- Entity Name
- Administrative Email Address
- Country (US, CA, or AU)
- Website URL
- Sales channel IDs of each sales channel on which Vertical Insure will be offered to guests
- Inntopia: Contacts Vertical Insure via API with the Partner information.
- Vertical: For Partners offering Travel/Trip insurance, the Vertical API initiates an email to Partner that contains steps to complete the connection between the Partner and Vertical.
- Inntopia: Enables Vertical Insure on each sales channel selling Vertical Insure products.
- Inntopia: Works with Partner to configure Customer Requirements on products to collect Name and DOB.
- Inntopia and Partner: Completes testing to ensure that the integration is operating as expected.

- Vertical Insure supports transactions in Canadian dollars.
- Guests located in Canada are only eligible to receive offers for Registration (Refund) Insurance for trips/experiences located in either Canada or the US.
- Guests located in US are eligible to receive offers for Trip, Registration (Refund), or Gap Medical for trips/experiences located in Canada.

Inntopia does not charge a fee to implement Vertical Insure.
